15 2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan

Even though the brand-new Himalayan 450 hasn’t made its way to America yet, all signs point that the improved version of the well-liked model ups the ante on the adventure with more amenities and power. It expands on the Himalayan 411’s well-proven foundation, giving riders who crave more adventure and discovery even more options. You’d be getting far better build quality than the existing model, appreciable modern features and, not to forget, an all-new engine.

The important thing to remember is that the new model has very little hardware in common with the older model. With liquid cooling, advanced construction, and an engine that produces almost twice as much power, the 450 is all set to take things a step further. In addition, Royal Enfield has installed a Showa suspension system with beefy USD forks up top.

The Ibex 450 may be CFMoto’s first adventure offering under 500cc, but it appears ready to conquer any kind of terrain. Based on the 449cc, parallel twin powerhouse previously seen in the 450SS and 450NK, this is the brand’s third model on this platform. Mechanical tweaks give you 32.4 pound-feet of torque and 44 horsepower, which engage at 6,250 RPM and 8,500 respectively.

The 450MT is constructed by CFMoto around a steel twin cradle chassis. It combines 41 mm KYB upside-down forks and an adjustable KYB mono-shock with 7.87 inches of travel. To facilitate appropriate off-roading, you also receive 21/17-inch spoke wheels in addition to the long-travel suspension. Considering the brand has priced the ADV at $6,499, it makes for a better value proposition than its direct rival, KTM Adventure 390!

Benelli released the 2024 version of its 702 series last year, but it took a while to reach America. Earlier this year, the now-Chinese-owned brand launched the ADV at a mouthwatering starting price of $7,899. You get to choose between a normal road tourer (702) and the adventurous all-terrain explorer (702X) variants.

Examining deeper, you’d see that both the trims are identical in every way — engine, frame, shocks, brakes, riding stance, and basic styling — apart from some exuberant graphics and wheel setup. Spoke wheels and more dirt-worthy tires are available on the 702X for more challenging riding situations. The standard 17-inch cast aluminum wheel is replaced at the front with a 19-inch classic aluminum rim and steel spoke wheel, while the 17-inch wire wheel is retained at the back.

It has spoke wheels, a 5-inch TFT display, five ride modes, a dependable 755cc parallel-twin engine, and a variety of Honda accessory packages.

Now, you get the ability to customize your Transalp to meet your riding style. Take, for instance, the Touring Collection: an optional upgrade that comes with center stands, panniers, and a big screen if you plan on riding primarily on the pavement. The Adventure Collection, on the other hand, includes hand guards, a skid plate, and enduro foot pegs if off-roading is your objective.

Merely a year after releasing their 450 Rally in America, Kove comes up with the 800X Rally, a twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle. It is an offering that has drawn notice because of its amazing specs sheet that aims at well-known competitors in the industry. It has a DOHC layout with liquid cooling that provides 95 horsepower and 59 pound-feet of torque. A rather likable output, not too short of the well-liked European middleweight ADVs but higher than Japanese bikes such as the Honda Transalp 750 and the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

BMW announced its all-new adventure middleweight trio comprising the F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, and F 800 GS. All three of these bikes are fresh for 2024, replacing the outgoing F 850 GS, F 850 GS Adventure, and F 750 GS, respectively. The F 900 R’s 895cc twin-cylinder engine, which powers the F 900 GS, has replaced the previous model’s 853cc powerplant. It generates 105 horsepower and 68.6 pound-feet of torque, a reasonable increase of 15 horsepower and 5 pound-feet over the F 850 GS.

In terms of kit, you get a 6.5-inch TFT with cellphone connectivity, handguards, adjustable foot levers, heated grips, and all-LED lighting with a USB port. To be fair, you could probably choose any of these three offerings. We chose the F 900 GS because it would suit a wider range of folks. For an extra $700, you could go for the F 900 GS Adventure if you really are keen on a few extras. Or maybe even the F 800 GS at a near-$10,500 price tag if you don’t mind the limited power.

Hard-core Guzzi fans ought to be elated that the brand has finally brought back its flagship ADV, the Stelvio. In contrast to the touring-focused V100 Mandello, the Stelvio appears tough and prepared to traverse the globe as soon as it leaves the showroom. Regarding riding, it may be the best model from Moto Guzzi to leave the factory; its longitudinally placed V-twin engine is powerful and adaptable, providing tameness when required and excitement when desired. It comes with an aluminum bash plate, luggage rack, hand guards, an updated tank for saddle support, and laced spoke wheels. The Mandello does not have any of these features.

Exclusiveness is sometimes associated with limited-edition superbikes, but MV Agusta believes otherwise. With some of the greatest features in the class, this ADV exudes confidence in each and every way. But what if you don’t want to pay extra for the limited edition?

If that’s the case, the Enduro Veloce is just for you! Looking at what you get, there is a set of off-road components that includes crash bars, LED aux lights, a strong Sachs suspension, a skid plate, and tubeless spoke wheels. Moto Morini is a manufacturer that often goes under the radar. But if the truth is told, the maker has some of the best value propositions in their respective segments like the X-Cape 650 ADV and the Seiemmezzo scramblers. Now, the Chinese-Italian manufacturer has announced its biggest-ever adventure bike for the American market.

A brand-new “V2 Corsa Corta EVO” engine will power the ADV. In its Euro5+ trim, the 1,187cc V-twin engine would produce 125 horsepower. That means it will be taking on the new Africa Twin, Ducati’s Desert X, and the above-discussed Moto Guzzi Stelvio. Although it is not released yet, Moto Morini has confirmed the ADV as a part of its portfolio for the 2025 model year. Excited?

There has been a BMW R GS offering for over 43 years now. The R 80 GS, regarded as the first big dual-sport motorbike in history, is credited with starting it all, and the Bavarian bike manufacturer has been gradually improving its ADV ever since. And now, the highly celebrated R 1250 GS has been replaced by the all-new R 1300 GS.

It has a design that may not be to everyone’s taste but is nonetheless touted to be the lightest and punchiest GS yet. BMW has concentrated on making the motorbike sleeker and sharper in its new incarnation, both in terms of appearance and ride quality. Not to mention the abundance of optional accessories that you can pick from. It just has to be on your list of considerations for 2024.

Triumph

With its lightweight construction, plenty of IMU-enabled electronics, and Showa semi-active suspension, the English-flavored Triumph Tiger 1200 series has always been present on our ADV lists. The 2024 offering doesn’t miss out, either, thanks to a number of small, but crucial changes to an already-successful product. Triumph’s engine division has made some clever adjustments to 1200 Rally and GT Explorer models to improve performance, particularly at low speeds.

According to the company, the refinement alterations will mostly be acknowledged during acceleration and deceleration, resulting in a more comfortable ride altogether. Active Preload Reduction comes as standard now, which lowers the bike’s seat height by up to 0.8 inches when it stops, depending on the weight on top of it. Then, there are minor adjustments designed to enhance the comfort of the rider, particularly those who are shorter.

With the 1290 Super Adventure R, KTM’s insane acceleration can be had in an ADV flavor. When you start to climb into the mid-range, that is where the incredible LC8 engine starts to shine and doesn’t stop until you release the throttle. This monster of a bike behaves a lot like a bike half its size; blame the KTM magic, which ensures you’ll be shocked at how quickly it shifts sides.

The Super Adventure exudes luxury in every part and detail, as it’s built to go across borders and the harshest of terrains. In terms of design, this adventure bike is by far the most dominant-looking. Nothing matches the riding experience, though. If you take it for a spin, that’s when you’ll truly understand the psychological experience of riding the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R–unrivaled by most other motorcycles.
