Yezdi Roadking ADV – Could this be the Himalayan Slayer? » MotorOctane

Mahindra-owned Classic Legends is well-known to resurrect vintage brands. They have already done it once with Jawa bikes. Currently three bikes viz. Jawa Classic, Forty-Two, and Perak are sold under the Jawa brand. Classic Legends is now working on reviving the Yezdi, which was quite an iconic brand back in the 70s to 90s. Currently, two Yezdi motorcycles are being tested. One of them is an Adventure bike and the other is a scrambler. ‘Yezdi Roadking’ name has also been registered in India. In this article, we will discuss what the new bike from Yezdi has to offer and which bike it will compete with.

Yezdi Roadking ADV Design

Yezdi ADV

The motorcycle that was spotted undisguised recently, the Yezdi Roadking ADV was seen in white color. The fuel tank had blue and black bands that add a contrasting shade adding to the bike’s sporty look. Glossy steel fuel cap, winged styled Yezdi logo, and ‘Legendary Yezdi’ engraving on the fuel tank make the bike unique. The overall look of the bike is more of a modern adventure bike with a slight hint of a retro bike.

Yezdi Roadking ADV  Styling and features

Yezdi ADV

The Yezdi Roadking ADV seems very similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The bike gets dedicated racks at the front and rear. The bike also gets a round headlamp, turn indicators, tail lamp, a large windscreen, suspension fork gaiters, dual front fenders (similar to Himalayan), crash guard for the engine, and radiator. The car also gets split seats, spoke wheels, and upswept exhaust. The raised handlebars and centrally positioned footrest make it comfortable for riders during long rides. The bike also gets a fully-digital instrument cluster that will be packed in a shockproof casing for extreme off-roading.

Engine Specifications

Jawa Perak

The Yezdi Roadking ADV gets the same 334cc engine that is currently available in the Jawa Perak. The engine will produce 30bhp and 32.74Nm of torque mated to a six-speed gearbox. When compared to the Royal Enfield Himalayan that gets a 411cc engine that produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm of torque. The Yezdi Roadking ADV seems to be more powerful. The bike gets telescopic suspension at the front and swingarm rear suspension. We expect the bike to get 19-inch spoked wheel at the front and 17-inch spoked wheel at the rear. The bike will also get dual-channel ABS as a standard feature.

Price and Launch

The Yezdi Roadking will be competing against the Royal Enfield Himalayan and will be strategically priced. We expect the price of this bike to be around Rs 1.85 lakh to 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). There is no news related to its official launch date as of now. Stay tuned for more news from the world of cars and bikes.
