ADV & McKay’s Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Coming to Stores This Month

In the summer of 2022, ADV & McKay Cigars Co. released ADVentura Barbarroja’s Invasion, a cigar that not just added a new chapter to the ADVentura story, but also came with a box that played a recording of the Barbarroja character saying “Arrrgh. This is ADV’s Barbarroja’s Invasion. Taste it, or pay the price,” when the lid of the box was opened.

Now, the response to that cigar and its storyline is about to arrive, as the company is set to begin shipping Blue Eyed Jacks’ Revenge.

The cigar uses a Mexican San Andrés colorado wrapper, a Dominican olor binder, and Dominican fillers, with the tobacco having been aged for five years prior to rolling. The cigars are produced at Tabacalera Mina del Rey factory, which ADV & McKay’s co-founders Henderson Ventura and Marcel Knobel opened in late 2023. Once the cigars are rolled they get six months of rest in the factory’s aging room.

The company says that the profile has a creamy and rich feel, echoing flavors of ground cashews and floral spice. It is also the only cigar in the company’s portfolio that is blended to be both sweet on the palate and via retrohales.

ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge is available in the same three sizes as Barbarroja’s Invasion:

  • ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Corona (6 x 44) — $13.20 (Box of 20, $264)
  • ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Robusto (5 x 52) — $14.20 (Box of 20, $284)
  • ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Toro (6 x 54) — $15 (Box of 20, $300)

Just like the Barbarroja Invasion boxes, the Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge boxes play a sound clip when opened, this time the Blue Eyed Jack character saying “small price to pay for the taste of sweet revenge.”

The initial release of the ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge is only heading to ADV & McKay’s elite accounts, with shipping scheduled to begin this Friday, July 12. The company will begin shipping to its other accounts in early August.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I’m a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
